Marie

Marie

My mother-in-law Marie Donner has Stage IV Ovarian cancer. She was told she had three choices,  1. Go into hospice.   2.  Take serious chemotherapy. (Which would leave her very ill and all of her hair would fall out). 3. Take a lower dose of chemotherapy for three weeks to reduce her symptoms.  Those of you who know Marie know that she’s not a quitter so number one is out. Number two is just a sucky choice, she’d  feel really bad and her beautiful hair would fall out. So she’s going for number three.

She started chemo on Monday. She will have a lower dose of chemo once a week for three weeks. The goal is to reduce her symptoms. It may or may not work, but there is a good outcome for the majority of people.  The side-effects aren’t terrible.

Latest update as of last night.  Marie had her 1st chemo treatment Monday.  She stayed overnight in the hospital. A stent was put in the next day. She’s home now feels a little nauseous but some of her aches and pains have lessoned.

As I find out more information I will post it on this blog. I did this for my mother when she was going through breast cancer and Marie liked the fact that people could read the blog and keep up with how she’s doing. Thank you for reading.
